Aldosteronism - Cause, Symptoms, Treatment of Aldosteronism

Primary Aldosteronism also called Conn's syndrome is a condition in which excessive amounts of the hormone aldosterone are secreted by the adrenal cortex of the adrenal glands above the kidney.

Aldosteronism is usually due to an adenoma of the adrenal cortex. It causes the retention of sodium, potassium depletion and is one of the causes of hypertension or high blood pressure.
