Achondroplasia Overview & Information

Achondroplasia is an inherited abnormality in which cartilage is not laid down properly at the growing areas or epiphyses of the long bones of the limbs. This results in shortened arms and legs but a normal trunk and skull. There is no treatment of Achondroplasia and it causes a type of dwarfism but does not affect intelligence.
